More about the Napa Valley Opera House
The historic, non-profit Napa Valley Opera House is located in the heart of downtown Napa, nestled among world-class restaurants and wine tasting rooms. A national historic landmark originally constructed in 1879, the Opera House restored its unique second-floor, 480-seat Margrit Biever Mondavi Theatre in 2002 after 30 years of planning. Patrons experience an eclectic array of performing arts including theatre, dance, comedy, jazz, blues, world music, and family programming in an intimate setting that artists and audiences rave about. Musicians and entertainers including Natalie Cole, Chris Botti, Steve Martin, Robin Williams, Elvis Costello and Joan Baez have taken the stage in recent years, touting the theatre's fine acoustics and uniquely personal ambiance. The Opera House also opens its doors regularly to community organizations, schools and nonprofits who use the space for events, fundraisers and performances. Operating as a non-profit organization, the theatre depends on donors and patrons for financial support through memberships, ticket sales and donations.
