Napa Valley Vineyards
Rutherford

St. Supéry's Rutherford estate vineyard surrounds the winery in this celebrated wine growing region along Hwy 29. Thirty-five acres are planted with red Bordeaux varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The climate and soils of Rutherford are ideal for these grape varieties, which are the provenance of components of our Élu red Meritage blend, as well as St. Supéry's Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon and Rutherford Merlot, two small lots of wine available for sale at the winery and to our wine club members.

Our Rutherford vineyard is on the "Rutherford Bench" of mineral-rich alluvial soils of sandy clay loam from the Mayacamas Mountains. Deep, well-drained soil allows the grapevine's root system to mine for nutrients and water which yields complex and concentrated flavors in the fruit.
