Winemaker’s Notes

This wine has a pale straw appearance with beautiful richness in texture and balance. Aromas fill the glass with fragrant jasmine and honeysuckle blossoms, mandarin orange, and fresh apricot. On the palate, flavors of ripe yellow peach, nectarine and kumquat meld together with citrus undertones and a tangerine zest to create an opulent and refreshing sweet wine.

Winemaking

The 2023 growing season was entirely about patience. A long, wet winter and spring filled our lakes and nourished the soils. With the cooler start to the season, budbreak was several weeks behind average. Once warm, mild weather conditions took over in the late spring and early summer, abundant shoot growth in May and June proceeded. Canopy management was vital to veraison, which occurred in mid to late July. The Muscat Canelli was picked August 14-16. The longer hang time allowed the fruit to catch optimum ripening, creating a superb vintage with bright, fresh white wines that show varietal flavors and textures.

Parcel By Parcel

Our winemaking and vineyard team have a broad selection of soils and topography to choose from when selecting ideal vineyard sites at Dollarhide. Each parcel is planted with fruit quality and distinct character in mind. These parcels are then farmed individually so that the vines will thrive in their distinctive locations. Our team is able to match the right soils with the optimum combination of rootstock, clone selection and cultivation practices. The diversity of terrain results in a wide selection of fruit characteristics with which our winemakers work in producing estate sauvignon blanc and cabernet sauvignon, estate blends and the Dollarhide Estate single vineyard wines.

Sustainability

As a 100% estate grown, sustainably farmed winery, St. Supéry has 1,595+ acres of land with two thirds left in its natural state encouraging biodiversity. From the very beginning, we have farmed and operated as stewards of the land with preservation is our top priority.
