2024 Harvest Picking Begins in Napa Valley

St. Supéry’s First Sauvignon Blanc

August 7, 2024

St. Supéry Estate Vineyards and Winery picks its first fruit of the 2024 Napa Valley harvest.

St. Supéry Estate Vineyards and Winery is excited to share the first pick of its 2024 Napa Valley harvest season! The winery’s vineyard team, led by Director of Vineyard Operations Brenae Royal, gathered in the early morning hours of August 7th at Dollarhide Estate Vineyard in northeastern Napa Valley to harvest two blocks of Sauvignon Blanc.

The team picked approximately 19 tons of Napa Valley Estate Sauvignon Blanc for delivery to the winery in Rutherford. A staff toast commenced, led by Vice President of Winemaking & Vineyards, Michael Scholz and team, followed by fruit processing. This first pick is close to a week earlier than in 2023.

In 2024, the growing season saw a mild winter and spring followed by a warm June and extended heat during the month of July. The team is carefully managing vineyard canopy and irrigation efforts to reach evenly ripened fruit with acid structure and flavor profile in each block. The fruit picked on August 7th is bright and fresh with green citrus tones.

“It is super exciting to commence a new harvest after a season of growing. The vineyards are looking great, and the early fruit is showing terrific promise toward what is yet to come,” noted Michael Scholz.
