5 Ideas to Make Dinner at Home More Fun

Have you exhausted your usual recipe repertoire as you’ve sheltered in place? If you’re looking for inspiration to make dinners at home more memorable and even more delicious St. Supéry Winery is here to help. Now is the time to get creative and make special memories at home with easy yet gourmet recipes.

1. Pizza with Pizzazz

Stuck in a rut of ordering the same old meat lover’s combo? Pizza is a food with endless combination possibilities. You can make your own dough (from all that sourdough starter discard you may have) or we found these great flatbreads from iGourmet. Chef Tod will demonstrate how to look like a pro and have a delicious meal in half the time. Here are some creative topping ideas (recipes included):

2. Backyard Picnic

Change the setting, change your perspective. Summer is the perfect time get creative with your dinner venue. How about a Provencal picnic? These adorable and tasty butter croissants don’t need to be reserved exclusively for breakfast. Try them with prosciutto with cheese or sliced pear with Brie. Pair with St. Supéry, Napa Valley Estate Rose, just like they do in Provence. Ooh la la! If you happen to have any croissants left over, use them for brunch!

3. Elevate Simple Pasta

Pasta may well be the ultimate comfort food (and one of the first foods one learns how to cook) but with the addition of a tiny bit of truffle or caviar, you can turn ho hum into YUM! Our chef here at St. Supéry loved the easy yet decadent tagliatelle recipe with truffle butter. This rich dish can stand up to a bold red wine like St. Supéry Napa Valley Estate Élu.

4. Risotto

Risotto is not a dish most people attempt at home but it can be a very rewarding treat. Since this recipe calls for a half cup of white wine, it is a natural choice to enjoy the remaining wine as the perfect accompaniment to the finished dish. This recipe brightens up a heavy dish with preserved lemon flavors and tangy goat cheese, making it the perfect match for our vibrant St. Supéry, Napa Valley Estate Sauvignon Blanc.

5. Incorporate Fresh Seasonal Fruit for Dessert

Why reserve fruit for breakfast or a snack? Keep the grill hot after the hot dogs and burgers are finished and turn sliced peaches into a stunning dessert. The sweet fruit is the best pairing for a cold wine (try our St. Supéry, Napa Valley Estate Moscato) and ice cream.

These recipes will be brought to life each Thursday by St. Supéry Estate Chef Tod Kawachi who will share tips and tricks along the way in a virtual wine tasting and chef demonstration. Join us at 3pm or 5:30pm via Zoom or Facebook Live. Check the schedule at www.stsupery.com/injoyathome/.
