Celebrating Everyday Heroes.

A core value at St. Supéry is sharing joy - in our homes, in our daily lives, and at those special occasions with those we hold dear. This Fall, we are sharing the stories of those bringing joy to their own communities. So many are doing good things and making their world a better place without seeking recognition.

Let's celebrate these everyday heroes.

Thanks to its dedicated team of volunteers, OLE Health—the Napa Valley’s only nonprofit community clinic—has administered more than 39,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses since February. When the organization put out a request for help, community volunteers answered the call. OLE’s vaccination team includes many retired and current medical providers, as well as individuals who work outside the medical field.

To date, volunteers have put in more than 4,000 hours, which saves OLE Health approximately $114,000. Because of their efforts, the Napa community is safer and healthier.

OLE’s entire Vaccination Volunteer Team deserves recognition, but there is one person who truly embodies its ethos: Betty Labastida. A family nurse practitioner with OLE Health before retiring in 2014, she now serves on the organization’s board of directors, as well as on other boards and committees in Napa County. SUCH AS?

When OLE Health first began administering vaccines, Betty stepped up to the plate to provide support in multiple capacities. So far, she has logged more than 200 hours in OLE’s vaccination clinics.

“Day in and day out, Betty arrives with a smile on her face, ready to help her community get back on track,” says nominator Ricky Hurtado. “Without her and the rest of the Vaccination Volunteer Team, we would not be able to accomplish the work we do in our communities.”

Ricky nominated an Everyday Hero, Vaccination Volunteers, for #EverydayHero #InJoy @Stsupery to celebrate their volunteer contributions to and #givingback.
