Richard, a lifelong land preservationist, lends his expertise with joy. He has served as a Land Trust volunteer for over three decades. From committee work to two terms on the Land Trust Board of Trustees, he is always engaged and happy to help wherever he can, never seeking recognition for all that he does.

As a Land Trust volunteer since 1982, he’s served on many committee’s including the Executive Committee; the Finance and Investing Committee; the Project Committee; the Protection Committee; the Monitoring Committee and the Legacy Society Committee. Richard and his wife Susan volunteer and assist with fundraising at Land Trust events over the years. With a mission of protecting the land for generations to come the Land Trust plays an instrumental role in conservationism, fostering partnerships and being good stewards of the land upholding its natural values.

Richard also is a Natural Resource Volunteer with the CA Department of Fish & Game, assisting with: Inland & Marine Fisheries; Habitat Conservation; Wildlife Management; Hatcheries; and Education & Outreach. He has also previously served on the Board of Directors for the nonprofit affordable housing Stonebridge Apartments project in St. Helena.
