Welcome to the Harvest edition of the St. Supéry Chronicles. The vineyard, winemaking and cellar teams have been hard at work since August 7th with the picking of our first blocks of Sauvignon Blanc at the Dollarhide Estate. At the time, Vice President of Winemaking & Vineyards Michael Scholz said, “It is super exciting to commence a new harvest after a season of growing. The vineyards are looking great, and the early fruit is showing terrific promise toward what is yet to come.”
At present, the team has finished picking white wine varieties at both Dollarhide and the Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc vineyards, plus over 50% of the Cabernet Sauvignon at Dollarhide. Red grapes are really hitting their stride now with picking in Rutherford in early October. Fruit from Dollarhide Estate is concentrated and full of character in its early fermentation stage.
Winemaker Brooke Shenk noted, “The Sauvignon Blanc looks fantastic in ferment and the reds are ripening nicely on the vine as they enjoyed the cooler weather in mid-September. We are able to take our time with picking decisions in 2024 for our red varieties.”

Compare and contrast each pairing bite during a fun and educational tasting that brings both the grape and garden together in harmony.

We are excited to release our 2019 Rutherford Estate Vineyard Merlot, a perfect wine to celebrate fall and the coming holiday season. The wine is luscious, with fresh black plum, notes of dark, ripe raspberry, anise, and toasted oak combine with a hint graphite on the nose. Flavors of rich black cherry and mocha coupled with a subtle cinnamon, clove, and toffee. A smooth, silky pallet with elegant tannins. Enjoy!

The perfect Roast Turkey recipe to prepare this fall.
Ingredients:
1 medium boneless turkey breast, about 5 lbs
For the Brine:
900 grams sea salt
10 quarts room temperature water
4 whole garlic bulbs
1 pint honey
2 bunches thyme
2 bunches parsley
8 bay leaves, preferably fresh
50 grams black peppercorns
12 sprigs rosemary
12 whole lemons

Jerry Cmenil is a Wine Educator from Prague, Czech Republic. As a Wine Educator, Jerry relishes the opportunity to interact with customers and is passionate about the team-oriented culture of St. Supéry. In his spare time, Jerry likes to cook and enjoys recommending wine and food pairings to customers. Before working in wine, Jerry worked in industrial design and architecture before starting work at St Supéry.
Meet Bonnie Cunningham | Wine Educator since 2016
Bonnie Cunningham is a Wine Educator at St. Supéry. She loves the ability to teach people about wine regardless of their level of expertise. She also loves how her job changes every day due to the wine and people she interacts with daily. Before St. Supéry, Bonnie worked as a VP of Sales in the healthcare industry. Bonnie got into the wine industry because she has always had a passion for wine, and once she retired, her focus was to be involved in wine and become an educator.
