St. Supéry Chronicles Winter 2025

A Quarterly Newsletter

Welcome to 2025 and our winter edition of the St. Supéry Chronicles. We hope you had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends enjoying cherished bottles from your cellar. The holidays went by too quickly here in Napa Valley, but we are excited for new beginnings and a busy 2025 schedule.

This month, we are thrilled to take part in a California wide Napa Neighbor program which encourages residents to visit Napa Valley and experience the beauty of winter among the vines. Plan a visit to St. Supéry and become a ‘Club Member for the Day’. Benefits include a complimentary tasting for up to 4 people of our Winemakers Selection Tasting Experience or our White Wine Flight Experience and 20% off all wine purchases. Additionally, don’t miss this year’s Napa Valley Restaurant Month and Lighted Art Festival.

The winery continues to receive glowing reviews from national and international wine press, including our Dollarhide Estate Vineyard Cold Concrete Fermented Sauvignon Blanc being included in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of 2024, awarded Gold at Houston Rodeo Uncorked! Wine Competition, and R.H. Drexel’s Top 50 Wines of 2024. Be sure to visit our winery blog for the most recent news.

This winter we will be preparing Chef Vince Sanchez’s recipe for Grilled Rib Eye with Hen of the Wood paired with the recently released 2019 Dollarhide Elevation. It is a satisfying dish to celebrate Cabernet Season. We invite you to prepare the recipe and tag @stsupery for a chance to be featured in our stories.

Until our Spring newsletter, we hope you make time to gather with friends and family and enjoy hearty cold weather meals paired with delicious wines and meaningful conversations all winter. Cheers to the New Year ahead and we look forward to welcoming you home to St. Supéry during your next visit to Napa Valley.

New Release | 2019 Dollarhide Elevation

Enjoy the cold winter months next to a fire with a glass of our newly released 2019 Dollarhide Elevation. The wine is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Malbec with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, cassis, black pepper, and hints of vanilla. Flavors include ripe blackberry, black plum, cocoa powder, and a thread of dark raspberry. Enjoy!

93 Points – James Suckling
“This is smoky and earthy on the nose with aromas of ripe berries, licorice, dark chocolate and pine wood. Pure and creamy with a full body, ripe and sweetish-fruit character and a plush, velvety tannin structure. Creamy. Rich and fruit-forward with a long, savory finish.”

91 Points – Jeb Dunnuck
“A medium to full-bodied, round, easygoing, and delicious Cabernet that has juicy blackberry and cassis fruits, notes of tobacco, leafy herbs, and chocolate, supple tannins, and a great finish. It’s well worth drinking any time over the coming decade.”

In The Press: Wine Spectator Top 100

To say we were all excited to find out that our 2022 Dollarhide Estate Vineyard Cold Concrete Fermented Sauvignon Blanc was #27 on the annual Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of 2024 would be an understatement!

What a wonderful achievement for our dedicated vineyard and winemaking teams. Each year, Wine Spectator editors survey the wines reviewed over the previous 12 months and select a Top 100, based on quality, value, availability and excitement. This annual list honors successful wineries, regions and vintages around the world.

Rated 94 points, the 2022 St. Supéry Dollarhide Estate Vineyard Cold Concrete Fermented Sauvignon Blanc was described as, “Bursting with flavor and personality, this offers lemon meringue, fresh peach and Fuji apple notes up front on a juicy, succulent frame, while amber aromas and salted lime accents emerge on the long, expressive finish.”

Additionally, R.H. Drexel released their Top 50 Wines of 2024 list on JebDunnuck.com. We were elated to find our 2023 Napa Valley Estate Sauvignon Blanc at #46 on the list. What an honor to have two wines included in “Best of” lists to complete 2024!
