Napa Valley winery pays tribute to community volunteers with an inspirational photo exhibit, virtual tastings and more
Rutherford, Calif.—This autumn through March 2022, St. Supéry, a Napa Valley community leader with a deep commitment to sustainability, will celebrate unsung everyday heroes who make a difference in communities and neighborhoods across the country. Through the #InJoy Everyday Hero project, St. Supéry hopes to inspire people to give back and spread joy.
In addition to highlighting the stories of everyday heroes on the winery’s website and social media platforms, St. Supéry will feature local volunteers at the winery in its art gallery with the #InJoyEverydayHero Art Exhibit, curated by Virgie Giles Foundation founders Topher Delaney and Calvin Chin. This inspirational exhibition of 25 large-scale black-and-white photographs by eight professional visual artists and photojournalists captures each hero in the fields of food security, mental health, animal rescue, youth mentorship and more.
“This year as part of our #InJoy celebration, we are recognizing those individuals whose actions and commitment to community bring joy to others,” says Emma Swain, CEO of St. Supéry Estate Vineyards and Winery. “There are amazing volunteers everywhere who just keep giving, and this year we will highlight their ongoing acts of kindness.” Nominate your own hero at https://www.stsupery.com/everydayheroes/ and view the inspiring photographs and stories at the winery and online.
St. Supéry has long recognized the importance of giving back through its annual participation in Auction Napa Valley, events across the United States, as well as its ongoing support of the Napa Community Disaster Relief Fund created after the 2014 South Napa Earthquake. When the LNU Complex fire struck Napa Valley in 2020, St. Supéry pledged $5 to the fund from each bottle sold of its 2020 Sauvignon Blanc to honor selfless community members—including Everyday Hero, David Eakle—who showed up on their own initiative with bulldozers, shovels and tractors to stop the flames from advancing.
“To me, that’s what volunteering is all about,” Swain says. “You came and you helped. Whether you’re there for your neighbors or you volunteer for an organization, that’s the greatest gift you can give.”
