Tasting Notes
A distinctive wine with a charming sense of place and character, the 2024 vintage is bright and refreshing with complex aromatics of lime, grapefruit, citrus blossom, stone fruit and a savory thread of salty caper and wet stone. A richly layered wine with pleasuring acid structure and balance filling the senses with Kaffir lime, lemon zest, passionfruit and orange blossom honey.
Winemaking
After achieving the desired flavors on the vine, the Sauvignon Blanc was harvested in the cool morning hours in an effort to preserve the delicate flavors. Once in the cellar, the grapes were pressed to tank and immediately chilled and settled. Fermentation was completed in steel and concrete tanks as well as seasoned French oak barrels at cool temperatures to maintain and enhance the natural flavors. The final blend was completed after 5 months of sur-lies maturation.
Accolades
94 Points, JamesSuckling.com – Mineral and citrus driven, with aromas of grilled lemons, wet stones, flint and citrus blossoms. The palate is tightly wound, with vibrant acidity and underlying power that leads to a minerally, mouthwatering finish. Time on the lees has resulted in a finely made sauvignon blanc. – RM, Nov. 2025
93 Points, Wine Spectator – This is stylish and elegant. Lemon balm, apple and pomelo flavors are crisp and lively at the core, showing a fresh thread of acidity, plus accents of shiso leaf, ruby grapefruit and tangerine. The flavors crescendo on the long, expressive finish, with lingering notes of white tea and peach. Drink now. -MW, Sept 15, 2025
92 points – Antonio Galloni, Vinous – The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc Rutherford Estate Vineyard sizzles with tension. Lime, chalk, mint and dried flowers all race across the palate. This vibrant, steely Sauvignon Blanc has a ton of character. Clean saline notes extend the finish. -AG, Nov 2025
91 points – Decanter – This organically farmed site is planted on deeper soils that encourage a more vigorous canopy and, in turn, greater fruit intensity. The wine ferments and ages on the lees for approximately five months across a mix of vessels—concrete, neutral oak and stainless steel—adding both texture and freshness. In the glass, the wine is incredibly bright, vivid and focused, driven by pure lime, lime zest and lime blossom, with saline-edged acidity coursing through the light- to medium-bodied palate. Positively crunchy acidity and chalky mineral intensity define the long, refreshing finish. A natural match for oysters, roast chicken or Dover sole. -JC, Jan. 2026
