91 Point Merlot Release and More
February 27, 2025
91 points – St Supéry Dollarhide Estate Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2022
Lean bright and angular in the aromatics, this Sauvignon Blanc from the St Supéry Dollarhide estate shows crushed stone and citrus aromas with a hint of smoky flint. The wine is medium-bodied and lush on the palate with ample texture. Fleshy ripe apricots, honey, and savoury herbs and grasses mark the finish.
91 points – St. Supéry Rutherford Estate Vineyard Merlot 2019
Dense blue fruits, spiced plums and frankincense mark the aromatics of this Merlot from the estate property. The palate is lush and dense with dusty black cherries, gravelly minerality, and a melange of barrel spice notes of Christmas cake and baked gingerbread to finish the wine.
92 points – St. Supéry Napa Valley Élu 2018
A Cabernet dominant blend with excellent concentration and alluring aromatics of blue fruits, spice, and smoked cedar plank. A dense core of dark fruit, ember, clove, cinnamon and mocha powder marks the palate’s intensity. Balanced by bright acidity and ample structure.
93 points – St. Supéry Dollarhide Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
The Dollarhide Vineyard, a St Supéry estate site, has old origins as a ranch dating to the 1840s. A mélange of dark chocolate and black plums mark the aromatics with notes of Christmas spice. The palate is lush, with unctuous black fruits, spiced plums, blackberries, and black currant. There are definitive notes of mocha, espresso bean, a touch of ember, and smoky spice, but the acidity lifts the finish nicely and provides a balance and a lengthy dark chocolate note that lasts a long time.
