Welcome to spring and our latest edition of the St. Supéry Chronicles. The vineyard team is seeing the first signs of bud break around sections of our Dollarhide Estate Ranch and a few parcels in Rutherford. The 2024 growing season has begun! We are also excited to share news of our new gallery exhibition curated by our friends at the Paul Thiebaud Gallery in San Francisco. We have all fallen in love with the artwork on display and can’t wait for you to see it during your next visit to the winery.
It has been a busy first quarter for stellar reviews of our latest and upcoming wine releases, most notably the April 30 issue of Wine Spectator which included a California Sauvignon Blanc Report that includes our winemaking practices around this important grape variety. With the addition of our Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc Estate Vineyard last fall, St. Supéry now grows over 9% of Napa Valley’s sauvignon blanc, all certified Napa Green. Additionally, we were simply thrilled to receive a Wine of the Week honor from Press Democrat for our Dollarhide Estate Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, and 90+ point reviews from The Wine Independent, Decanter, James Suckling, and more! Congratulations to our amazing winemaking and vineyard teams!
The winery is honored to also announce that St. Supéry Estate is the official wine partner of Fed By Blue and the upcoming docuseries Hope in the Water, featuring Shailene Woodley, Martha Stewart, Jose Andres, and Baratunde Thurston, premiering on PBS this summer. The Hope In The Water docuseries travels the globe to discover the creative solutions and breakthrough blue food technologies that could not only feed us but help save our threatened seas and fresh waterways. This three-part docuseries is brought to us by thirteen-time Emmy award-winning producer and writer David E. Kelley and four-time James Beard award and Emmy award winner, Andrew Zimmern. Stay tuned for more details soon!
Delights from the Estate Garden provided Chef Vince Sanchez a bounty of produce this year and he created a delicious new salad recipe around Castelfranco, citrus, and beets. It pairs perfectly with our 2022 Dollarhide Estate Vineyard Cold Concrete Fermented Sauvignon Blanc. Try it and let us know what you think of this exceptional wine and food pairing. Tag @stsupery for a chance to be featured in our stories.
Until our next newsletter this summer, join us in raising a glass to warm weather and gathering with family and friends to enjoy good food and wine together. Cheers!
St. Supéry Estate and Paul Thiebaud Gallery are thrilled to present It’s Out There: Artists and the Natural/Human Environment, a group exhibition featuring the works of Jeff Bellerose, Stephen Coyle, Eileen David, Arthur Okamura (1932-2009), Celia Reisman, and Suong Yangchareon at St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery in Rutherford, CA.
Each of the exhibiting artists shares their unique perspective on the human and/or natural environments in their paintings, variously conveying feelings of awe, wonder, nostalgia, transcendence, and spiritual resonance, to name a few. The exhibition will be on view through February 28, 2025. We hope you will join us for a tasting experience and the chance to see this collection of artwork in person.

To say we were thrilled upon receiving an advanced copy of Wine Spectator’s April 30, 2024 issue would be an understatement. In this latest edition, MaryAnn Worobiec, included a thoughtful and insightful report on California Sauvignon Blanc. Our Vice President of Winemaking & Vineyards, Michael Scholz, was interviewed and the 2022 St. Supéry Dollarhide Estate Vineyard Cold Concrete Sauvignon Blanc (94 points) is among MaryAnn’s recent favorite bottlings.
If that wasn’t enough, the two-page featured image accompanying the article is a stunning shot from our Dollarhide Estate at sunrise. We hope you enjoy reading an excerpt from the article.

Meet Celestino Corro-Rojas | Vineyards Since 1982
Marking nearly 42 years of unwavering dedication, Celestino Corro-Rojas is not just an expert, but a man deeply connected to the vineyards of St. Supéry. Born in the vibrant town of San Marcos Arteaga in Oaxaca, Mexico, Celestino’s journey with St. Supéry began in 1982, a start that would shape an extraordinary legacy. His tenure has been marked by a profound love for the land and a relentless pursuit of excellence. His vast experience, from planting to canopying, covers every aspect of vineyard maintenance. But his greatest joy comes from mentoring new workers and guiding them through the intricacies of the Dollarhide Estate Ranch.
Outside the vineyards, Celestino’s passions extend to the culinary arts and the joy of music. He finds solace in the kitchen, creating dishes with fruits and vegetables from his garden. When the sun sets, Celestino’s melodic voice fills the air as he indulges in the timeless pleasure of karaoke.
Celestino’s eyes sparkle with enthusiasm when asked about his favorite parcels at the Dollarhide Estate.
As St. Supéry strives to not only maintain, but also reach further with its sustainability efforts each year, every little thing counts. This year, it was announced by International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA) that St. Supéry moved from an Applicant member to a Silver Member, having completed our first baseline, third-party verified GHG inventory (across Scopes 1, 2, and 3) in the past 12 months and set a roadmap for the winery to work toward Net Zero by 2050.
Expressing pride in achieving IWCA Silver Membership, our CEO, Emma Swain, shared, “Our focus at St. Supéry is on continuous improvement and how to not only sustain our current efforts but reach further to significantly improve each year. We are elated to have achieved IWCA Silver status following our most recent GHG inventory. Through this membership, we are committed to a healthy and sustainable future for all. IWCA is leading the way in addressing climate change and we encourage our fellow vintners to join us in our commitment to future generations.”
